I was born in Stockholm, Sweden at Danderyd’s Hospital. My mother and father instinctively knew that something was different about me.
Upon seeing me for the first time, they noticed that my arms and legs were not proportionate to my body. They immediately asked the midwife, who assured them that “everything is fine. The shorter arms and legs most likely run in the family.” However, the following morning the doctor who had been off the previous day asked my mother who was still in the hospital with me, to “call your husband as soon as possible for an urgent meeting.” My mother was worried and asked “What is wrong? Why do I need to call my husband?”
