I consider myself to be ‘third culture kid’ (TCK).
One definition of a TCK is a person who has grown up for a majority part of their childhood in a different country compared to their parents’ nationality. When I was around seven years old, a big challenge came my way that was outside of my control. My parents decided that we were going to move from Stockholm to London. The main reason was that my father’s employer at the time relocated their headquarters to London. Some things still make me nostalgic even to this day when I look back such as the beautiful apartment we lived in at the time in Stockholm and a few moments from my brief time at primary school.
