A few days ago I visited Equinor’s office in Fornebu, Norway.
We had a special meeting with Mohammed Qahtani, the 2015 World Champion of Public Speaking. He shared how Toastmasters has helped him in his work and how it can benefit employees. We also had Table Topics, where speakers respond to a topic on the spot with a short speech. With around 50 people attending, the event was a great success and a lot of fun.
One of my main reflections is how much Toastmasters has helped me outside of the organisation. When I first joined, even introducing myself felt challenging. Over time, I became more comfortable and built self-confidence, communication skills and the ability to handle uncertainty.
